TODO MUNDO FESTIVAL

The Todo Mundo Festival was launched in Belgrade in 2012 with the idea of providing the local audience with several days of enjoyment of world music, diverse and attractive, coming from different parts of the planet.

Belgrade has always been a meeting place for different cultures and traditions. That is why Belgrade is a city characterized by diversity, where foreigners usually feel good and relaxed. In modern times, various examples of world music can be heard in Belgrade, either at separate concerts or as part of differently conceived events. As the genre of world music has gained more and more fans in the last two decades, a good part of our energy is directed towards nurturing this offer on the capital’s cultural scene.

Today, the festival is independently organized by the Ring Ring Association, while the initiative twelve years ago was shared with the Belgrade Youth Center and LongPlay Concert Agency.

The music program of the festival has so far included performances by artists and bands from Europe, Asia, and Africa, always with the idea of promoting something interesting, different, unusual… Besides hosting some of the significant world music names, our main goal is relevance, i.e., presenting the freshest projects and albums. Thus, at the 9th edition of the festival (2021), we had the honour of hosting the exceptional Italian singer Maria Mazzotta, who “exploded” on the European concert scene that year, growing into a new, great world music star. Among other famous names, we have had: Tinariwen, Baba Zula, Muzsikás, Söndörgő, Nenad Vasilić, Divanhana, Vieux Farka Touré…

In addition to various musical traditions and fusions coming from around the world, Todo Mundo is always open to local artists, with the desire to support and introduce them to guests from abroad. So far, the festival has hosted performances by Félix Lajkó, Naked, Svetlana Spajić Group, Rodjenice, Istanbul Night, Shira utfila, Bojana and Nebojša Brdarić, DJ Killo Killo…

In addition to the main program, Todo Mundo is also a space for accompanying activities, such as exhibitions (“Mónika and Mazsi”, “Objectively from Šestica”), workshops (“Russian Traditional Doll”), conferences (“Women in the World Music: Artists, Managers, Journalists… “, “Music on the Move”, “Tradition Nowadays, in World Music”), street parades, and more.

The Todo Mundo Festival has been supported by: the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, the City of Belgrade, Radio-television of Serbia, Radio Belgrade 3, Music Norway, the Austrian Cultural Forum, Collegium Hungaricum, the French Institute, the Embassy of Spain, the Cervantes Institute, the Italian Cultural Institute, Sounds of Europe, the World Music Association of Serbia, Etnoumlje magazine, RadioAparat, the Music Information Centre of Serbia…
